F is for Forty
The dreaded day has finally come and gone.
Today, we officially ended my 40th birthday celebration with lunch at Tony Roma's. This caps almost a week's length of festivities that heightened my spirits, as well as my waistline. There's no doubt about it: diets and birthdays don't mix.
But cellulite be damned. Indeed, one of my favorite things about turning 40 was my birthday cake (or should I say birthday cup-cake?), a spring-inspired arrangement of cupcake blossoms with dragonflies perched on top.
I just adore birthday cakes. For me, no celebration is complete without one. It was through the inspiration of this latest cake that I decided to create another blog, this time featuring the many beloved cakes that have graced family occasions past.
